PROPOSTA DE TRATAMENTO FISIOTERAPÊUTICO PARA UMA PACIENTE PORTADORA DE PARAPARESIA ESPÁSTICA TROPICAL: ESTUDO DE CASO
Abstract
O HTLV-I é uma síndrome neurológica também conhecida
como paraparesia espástica tropical (PET), é uma enfermidade
desmielinizante crônica que afeta os neurônios motores da
medula espinhal. As vias de transmissão mais comuns são:
sexual, perinatal, transfusão de sangue e uso de drogas injetáveis.
A doença apresenta comprometimentos motores (fraqueza
e espasticidade) e sensitivos (hipoestesia), distúrbios esfincterianos
e vesicais além da disfunção erétil nos homens. O tratamento
é medicamentoso e fisioterapêutico. O estudo tem por
objetivo propor um tratamento fisioterapêutico para uma paciente
portadora de PET. O estudo foi realizado em uma paciente
do sexo feminino, 66 anos, diagnosticada há 10 anos com PET
e com queixa de fraqueza de membros inferiores. O tratamento
proposto consiste em exercícios de alongamento, mobilização
articular, fortalecimento, treino de marcha e equilíbrio. O estudo
trouxe uma proposta de tratamento levando em consideração
as limitações da paciente, o que demonstra a importância
da fisioterapia no tratamento dessa doença, já que ocasiona
limitações funcionais graves.
