PERFIL EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DE PACIENTES COM VDRL POSITIVO EM UMA REDE DE LABORATÓRIOS PRIVADOS NA CIDADE DE SÃO LUÍS
Resumen
A sífilis é uma doença infecciosa sistêmica, de evolução
crônica que possui como agente causador o Treponema
pallidum, uma bactéria gram-negativa em forma de espiral.
Ainda hoje, a sífilis ocupa uma importância relevante entre
os problemas de saúde pública no Brasil e no mundo, apresentando-
se como Sífilis adquirida ou Sífilis congênita. O
trabalho objetivou analisar o perfil epidemiológico de pacientes
com VDRL positivo em uma rede de laboratórios
privados na cidade de São Luís, Maranhão. Avaliaram-se,
por uma pesquisa transversal, os dados dos prontuários de
20.646 pacientes, considerando as variáveis, sexo e idade,
para análise de cada indivíduo entre os meses de Junho e
Julho de 2016. Os pacientes foram submetidos ao teste
VDRL (teste não-treponêmico), um método quantitativo, de
baixo custo, de fácil execução e que apresenta positividade
entre a segunda e a quarta semana após aparecimento do
cancro de inoculação. Dos 20.646 pacientes analisados, 643
(3,11%) pacientes tiveram resultados positivos, entre homens,
mulheres, crianças e recém-nascidos. Todos foram
confirmados pelo teste treponêmico. Os resultados obtidos
revelaram que a maior incidência de positividade ocorreu
no sexo feminino com um percentual de 59,70% dos casos
analisados na faixa etária entre 22 a 35 anos.
