We know that education in Brazil has undergone several reorientations in the course of our history. In this context, the teaching of Geography was linked to the remodeling of curricula and educational guidelines in which the country passed in each historical moment. Considering this, it is necessary to pay attention to the formation of the geography teacher who demands a continuous updating of knowledge, in the face of the dizzying advance of technologies and the permanent need to adapt to scenarios of constant changes. In this sense, we seek to highlight some reflections, which will certainly help us to understand a little more of the history of geography teaching in Brazilian space, as well as the relation of this discipline to the practice of teaching in the classroom.
