Influência da morfologia radicular na reabsorção apical

Este estudo investigou a influência da morfologia radicular no grau de reabsorção apical dos incisivos superiores e inferiores. A amostra foi composta por 30 pacientes com idade inicial média de 12,87 ± 1,43 anos, com más oclusões de Classe I e Classe II, divisão 1, submetidos ao tratamento ortodôntico sem extrações. As radiografias periapicais pré e pós-tratamento foram utilizadas para avaliar a quantidade de reabsorção radicular aplicando escores (0-4). A influência da morfologia radicular no grau de reabsorção foi investigada utilizandose o teste de Kruskal-Wallis. Embora não tenha havido significância estatística, as raízes curtas, dilaceradas e forma de pipeta apresentaram mais reabsorção, indicando que é necessária mais atenção na morfologia radicular durante o tratamento ortodôntico.
