Anodontia parcial e suas possibilidades ortodônticas

Anodontia parcial ou agenesia dentária é um problema que
acomete cerca de 3% da população. Isto se dá por razões ainda bastante
discutidas na literatura que vão desde hereditariedade a fatores
congênitos. Os diagnósticos deve ser realizado o mais precocemente
possível, já que as alternativas de tratamento são ampliadas enquanto há a
presença do elemento decíduo no arco. Dentre as possibilidades de
tratamento estão a manutenção ou reabertura de espaço para posterior
reabilitação protética, que tem como principal benefício a obtenção da
oclusão de classe I, ou ainda o fechamento de espaço e reanatomização
do canino , cuja maior vantagem está no reaproveitamento do elemento
adjacente para o reestabelecimento da estética. Todas as alternativas
deverão ter suas limitações e indicações devidamente avaliadas para
escolha da melhor opção para cada caso.
