Resumen

A morte é um evento presente do profissional Enfermeiro
que trabalha na UTI, porém este fato ainda é visto como vergonha e
despreparo e até mesmo como preconceito pelos próprios trabalhadores
atuantes nesta área, assemelhando o significado desta palavra como um
fracasso profissional. Sendo assim o presente trabalho objetivou
compreender como os enfermeiros vivenciam o processo de morte e
morrer. A metodologia aplicada foi o estudo descritivo de caráter
qualitativo envolvendo a experiência do enfermeiro sobre este tema,
através de um questionário com cinco perguntas discursivas, sendo
aplicado a quatro enfermeiros que atuam na UTI, sendo três com
especialização especifica na área exercida. Foi observado através que o
despreparo profissional neste assunto é constante, onde sentimentos
particulares acabam indiretamente interferindo no cuidar do paciente
frente ao processo de morte fazendo com que desta forma os profissionais
lidem apenas como a patologia do paciente, esquecendo que através de
tubos e aparelhos sofisticados há uma vida com uma história a ser
respeitada. Enfatiza-se também a importância do preparo sobre este tema
ser abordado com maior ênfase ainda na graduação do profissional
preparando-o melhor para tal acontecimento.
