Abstract

Cisto dentígero é um dos cistos odontogênicos mais comuns, com prevalência de 20 a 25% em relação aos demais cistos. Acomete pacientes entre a segunda e terceira década de vida, com predileção pelo gênero masculino. Geralmente são encontrados em exames de rotina como a panorâmica e associados a um dente não irrompido. Os dentes mais acometidos por essa lesão são os terceiros molares inferiores, caninos superiores, pré-molares inferiores e supranumerários. A patogênese do cisto dentígero ainda é incerta. Devem ser considerados no diagnóstico diferencial ameloblastoma e tumor odontogênico ceratocisto, que possuem características semelhantes ao cisto dentígero. O diagnóstico precoce é muito importante para a escolha do tratamento. O tratamento para cisto dentígero dependerá do tamanho da lesão, podendo ser proposto enucleação ou marsupialização.
