Abstract

A água é um importante recurso natural que nem sempre é
encontrada de forma pura na natureza, podendo se tornar
um potente veículo de transmissão de doenças principalmente
para as pessoas que moram em área rural e não possuem
saneamento básico. O presente estudo teve por objetivo avaliar
a qualidade microbiológica da água utilizada para o consumo
humano em propriedades rurais no distrito de Piquirivaí
em Campo Mourão, Paraná. Foram coletadas, assepticamente,
amostras de água de 10 propriedades, quais foram
submetidas a análise de coliformes totais e termotolerantes.
Os resultados apontaram a presença de coliformes totais em
60% das amostras, sendo que em duas propriedades rurais
foi detectada a presença de coliformes termotolerantes, evidenciando
que, nesses locais, a água estava imprópria para o
consumo humano.
