IMPACTO DAS OCLUSOPATIAS NA QUALIDADE DE VIDA DE PRÉ-ESCOLARES

Com a finalidade de avaliar o impacto das oclusopatias
sobre a qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde bucal de
pré-escolares, foi realizado um estudo transversal, que
adotou como estratégia de coleta de dados, o exame clínico
da cavidade oral de 200 crianças, de dois a cinco anos de
idade, das escolas da rede pública municipal da cidade de
Patos-Paraíba e a aplicação da versão brasileira do questionário
Early Childrenhood Oral Health Impact Scales
(B-ECOHIS) aos pais e/ou responsáveis. Os dados obtidos
foram transferidos para um banco de dados no software
Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). As variáveis
foram correlacionadas utilizando o Teste Exato de Fisher e
o Teste Qui Quadrado. O nível de significância considerado
foi de 5% (p<0,05). A prevalência de crianças com oclusopatias
foi de (35%), sendo (27,5%) Mordida Aberta Anterior,
(6%) Overjet acentuado e (1,5%) Mordida Cruzada
Posterior. Quando correlacionada a presença das oclusopatias
com a qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde bucal não
obteve-se significância estatística (p=0,12). Portanto, este
estudo mostrou que as oclusopatias não causaram impacto
na qualidade de vida dos pré-escolares e que a Mordida
Aberta Anterior foi a oclusopatia mais prevalente.
