Resumo

 

O tremor pós-anestésico, shivering, que ocorre em virtude das reações causadas pelo sistema termorregulador, é uma das consequências mais incômodas do pós-operatório. O shivering ocorre em uma incidência que varia entre 6,3 e 66% e apresenta alguns fatores de risco, sendo que suas prevenções bem como seu tratamento são de responsabilidade do profissional anestesiologista. Este trabalho tem como objetivo realizar uma revisão de literatura sobre o shivering e elucidar seus mecanismos e suas implicações. Foi realizada uma revisão de literatura nacional e internacional utilizando os bancos de dados MEDLINE, LILACS-BIREME e SCIELO. Foram selecionados artigos que abordam o tema shivering e que foram publicados nos últimos 25 anos. Faz-se necessário um conhecimento a respeito da complexidade do sistema de termorregulação, que é composto por termorreceptores, vias aferentes, sistemas de integração dos estímulos térmicos e vias efetoras. Conclui-se que as medidas não farmacológicas e farmacológicas são propostas para melhor resolução do problema. Na qual a meperedina se mostrou a droga por maior eficácia.
