Conceitos da zircônia na prótese fixa

Com o intuito de atender a demanda por tratamentos estéticos, as cerâmicas dentárias
apresentaram mudanças em sua resistência e estética. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho
foi realizar uma revisão da literatura enfatizando a evolução das cerâmicas dentárias, as
indicações, formas de aplicação clínica, adaptação marginal e cimentos usados na
cimentação. Constatou-se que a base de coroas confeccionadas com zircônia apresenta
propriedade estética e adaptação marginal clinica aceitável, sendo mais resistente que
outras próteses livres de metal devido sua grande resistência à flexão, podendo
substituir as coroas metalo-cerâmicas.
