Consumo de álcool por adolescentes

O álcool é a droga psicotrópica mais consumida entre os
jovens e seu uso precoce antecipa os riscos à saúde e a dependência. No
Brasil, a idade inicial do consumo de bebidas alcoólicas é de 12,50±2,10
anos. Dentre as situações que favorecem o seu consumo estão às
características próprias da adolescência associada à instabilidade no
ambiente familiar, forte propaganda e facilidade de aquisição de bebidas
alcoólicas. Devido sua transcendência, magnitude e existência de
métodos preventivos e de controle o consumo/abuso de álcool representa
um problema de saúde pública especialmente nas sociedades ocidentais,
acarretando altos custos para sociedade e envolvendo questões médicas,
psicológicas, profissionais e familiares. Com a preocupação de apontar à
magnitude, os fatores de risco, as situações protetoras e as conseqüências
associadas ao consumo de bebidas alcoólicas na adolescência, realizou-se
este trabalho de revisão de literatura.
