A união entre dentes naturais e implantes osseointegrados
para reabilitar pacientes parcialmente edêntulos é um assunto muito
controverso, devido as suas diferenças biomecânicas sob cargas oclusais.
Possíveis falhas mecânicas e o fenômeno da intrusão dentária têm
desencorajado muitos profissionais a fazerem essa união. Contudo, vários
desenhos de prótese, relacionando diferentes sistemas de fixação e
conexão, têm sido propostos para sanar tais problemas.
