Abstract

Aneurismas isolados da artéria ilíaca são pouco frequentes. Ao contrário dos aneurismas da aorta abdominal que, na sua maioria, podem ser palpados em indivíduos não obesos, muitos aneurismas de ilíacas são descobertos incidentalmente durante uma cirurgia, exame radiológico ou, ainda, apenas na necropsia. Alguns pacientes apresentam dor aguda devido à expansão ou ruptura do aneurisma, ou dor crônica devido à compressão de nervos ou vísceras. O artigo objetiva descrever um caso de uma patologia rara que pode cursar com danos graves e de muitas vezes o diagnóstico é insidioso. Será feito uma coleta de dados do prontuário de um paciente sem intervenção direta ou exposição do mesmo. Espera-se com esse estudo abordar um diagnóstico preciso de uma patologia que quando não diagnosticada e tratada corretamente em tempo hábil, pode trazer sérias consequências para o paciente.
