Abstract

As fissuras labiopalatais são malformações congênitas faciais de etiologia multifatorial que podem envolver lábios, rebordo alveolar e palato, causando transtornos estéticos, funcionais e psicossociais. O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar o caso clínico de um paciente com fissura palatina parcialmente vedada por mucosa, apresentando fístula de comunicação buco-sinusal além de deformidades ósseas atingindo a região de rebordo alveolar e parte do palato duro. O tratamento de escolha foi a confecção de uma prótese parcial removível obturadora, levando em consideração aspectos socioeconômicos. A abordagem proposta trouxe melhorias físicas e psicológicas, resgatando a funcionalidade das estruturas alteradas pela anomalia em questão, além da satisfação estética do paciente.
