Este artigo trata de aspectos pertinentes à adoção com o objetivo principal de descrever as consequências psicológicas causadas na criança que é adotada e devolvida durante o estágio de convivência. No artigo, são tratadas questões como o conceito da adoção, seus aspectos históricos, informações sobre o estágio de convivência, preparação de adotantes e adotados, motivos que levam os pais adotivos a decidirem adotar e devolver a criança, e como ponto final, traz as possíveis consequências que a criança que é devolvida pode sofrer. As dificuldades de relacionamentos por conta das expectativas e anseios, tanto dos pais adotivos quanto da criança, se colocam como os principais empecilhos e causas de devolução durante o estágio de convivência.
