RELAÇÃO ENTRE A Bifidobacterium breve E A PRESENÇA DE Candida albicans

A microbiota no trato gastrointestinal contém lactobacilos
gram-positivos e Bifidobacterium num total de 85% das
bactérias benéficas, bactérias potencialmente patogênicas e
fungos como a Candida albicans coexistindo em uma simbiose
complexa com interações hospedeiro-microrganismos
vantajosas. Assim, esse artigo se propôs a revisar naliteratura
a relação entre as Bifidobacterium brevee o fungo Candida
albicans. Nesta revisão bibliográfica foram realizadas
pesquisas nas bases de dados PUBMED e SCIELO considerando
os seguintes critérios de inclusão:artigos publicados
em inglês com exceção de artigos clássicos em outros
idiomas, datados entre 2000 e 2014 dando preferência aos
mais recentes.Os descritores utilizados foram: Bifidobacterium
breve, Candida albicans, Probiotics. O consumo deprobióticos
contendo Bifidobacterium breve conseguiu reduzir
significativamente a quantidade de Candida albicans, aumentar
a imunidade e auxiliar na redução da inflamação.
Um dos fatos que poderia explicar isso seria o fato de a
Bifidobacterium breve ter atividade anti-inflamatória o que
auxilia na redução de Candida albicans já que esta se prolifera
melhor em ambientes inflamados. É, portanto, necessário
ressaltar que o sucesso desta intervenção se baseia na
mudança de hábitos e estilo de vida que interferem neste
equilíbrio, aonde a nutrição apresenta um papel chave no
processo.
