Abstract

Os profissionais da saúde realizam atividades que exigem
grande aproximação física com o paciente, manipulam materiais perfuro
cortantes contaminados por sangue e fluidos corporais, situações como
estas fazem com que esses profissionais fiquem expostos a vários fatores
de risco que podem comprometer a sua saúde e ser um facilitador para a
ocorrência do acidente de trabalho. A enfermagem é uma profissão que
requer constante atualização, devido à evolução tecnológica e científica
que utiliza, e muitas vezes, o serviço de educação continuada para
oferecer aos seus funcionários conhecimentos para uma atuação eficaz
com objetivo de evitar acidentes. Confirmando deste modo, a importância
de realizar um estudo relacionado ao tema, tendo como objetivo
identificar os riscos biológicos que os profissionais de saúde estão
expostos, mencionar a importância da educação em saúde e demonstrar
medidas de prevenção e proteção do uso adequado dos equipamentos de
proteção individual.
