Abstract

This article presents a systematic review on the scientific literature about the practice of psychologist in the field of Psycho-Oncology Pediatric, which is considered as an interface area between the oncology and the psychology. After a brief historical review of how this field of activity was consolidated, the research was accomplished in the SciELO (Scientific Electonic Library Online), using as inclusion criteria the articles with qualitative theoretical studies, excluding quantitative researches and those references published with duplicity in more than a research base. The selected articles were reviewed with the objectives of analyzing the psychologist practice in psycho-oncology pediatric and to identify the challenges to be overcome. The results showed that the scientific literature describes the practice of psycho-oncologist in pediatrics similarly to the practice of the hospital psychologist, leaving out the possible differences between these specialties. As final considerations, it points to the need of the development of more further researches in this area.
